Rank structures below are adapted from standard real-world agency conventions. Callsigns are Coastal Living's own convention, not a claim about how the real agencies actually run theirs. Vehicle and apparatus prices come straight from the Budget Office reference sheet.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office
Rank Structure
- Sheriff — elected, agency-wide authority
- Undersheriff — second-in-command
- Director — oversees a major bureau
- Division Chief — heads an operational division
- Commander / Major — leads a specialized section
- Captain — commands a precinct or unit
- Lieutenant — manages squads, daily operations
- Sergeant — first-line field supervisor
- Police Officer — patrol, K9, aviation, detective assignments
